Bush White House Reiterates Support For Beleaguered Attorney General

Updated:
WASHINGTON (AP) _ The Bush White House is again defending Alberto Gonzales after Oklahoma Senator Tom Coburn and other Republicans joined the calls for the attorney general's resignation.

A day earlier, Coburn criticized Gonzales for having an inconsistent account of how eight federal prosecutors were fired. The Oklahoma Republican said the consequence should be that Gonzales should resign.
