WAGONER, Okla. (AP) -- A Porter man is killed when his car slams into a guardrail and throws him from the vehicle.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 45-year-old Patrick Hobbs died after yesterday's accident, which happened about 12:40 in the afternoon about three miles south of Wagoner.

The patrol says Hobbs was driving on U.S. 69 when he ran off the road, overcorrected and then crossed the road and slammed into a guardrail. Hobbs was thrown about 28 feet from the car and pronounced dead at the scene.

Hobbs was not wearing a seat belt.
