The Volunteers of America receive a big financial boost on Monday. The Bank of Oklahoma presented the non-profit organization with a $1,500 check for the 2007 Caring for Kids literacy campaign. The money will be used to deliver books to children through out the Tulsa area and in Oklahoma City. Members of Volunteers of America say that hopefully, by the end of June, they will have delivered thousands of books.

"It's really exciting to be able to provide children who have never had a new book, or even a slightly new one, with a book, said Volunteers of America CEO John Selph. “To see the look on their faces and it’s pretty exciting to see,"

Volunteers of American is one of the state's largest providers of residential support for those with disabilities and the elderly.
