WASHINGTON (AP) -- XM Satellite Radio reached a multiyear agreement Thursday to broadcast select Big 12 Conference football and basketball games beginning next season.
XM said it would air the Big 12 football championship and the entire Big 12 tournaments for men's and women's basketball, plus select games in each of the three sports during the regular season.
"We have received a large number of fan inquiries over the last few years about placing our championships on XM, and we're thrilled we were finally able to make it happen," Big 12 associate commissioner Tim Allen said.
The partnership with ESPN Regional Television makes XM the official satellite radio network for six power conferences -- the Big 12, Atlantic Coast Conference, Big East, Big Ten, Pacific 10 and Southeastern conferences.
XM said it has more than 8 million U.S. subscribers.
