Mourners Gather For Fort Sill Soldier's Funeral

FORT SILL, Okla. (AP) -- A Fort Sill soldier killed in Iraq will be laid to rest Wednesday at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia. Funeral services for Sergeant First Class Greg Sutton were held Friday at Fort Sill. Sutton died June 6th in Baghdad after an improvised explosive device struck the vehicle he was riding in.

Originally from North Carolina, the 38-year-old soldier was serving with a Fort Riley, Kansas-based division. His wife and two children still live on post at Fort Sill. While at Fort Sill, Sutton was a member of the 1st Battalion, 78th Field Artillery. He volunteered to go to Iraq so that a friend who worked in the same office could retire.
