HENRYETTA, Okla. (AP) _ A Henryetta police officer is hospitalized in stable condition after his patrol car was hit by a tractor-trailer rig Monday morning.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says officer Barry Burcham of Morris was taken to a Tulsa hospital after the accident about 5:45 Monday morning on Interstate 40.

Troopers say Burcham was parked on the shoulder of eastbound lanes of I-40 on the western edge of Henryetta when the driver of the rig lost control and crashed into the patrol car.

The driver of the semi is not injured.
