A Bartlesville family says their son was looking for adventure, and thought the Army was the way to go.

For the better part of four years Adam Brewer served in the US Army in Germany and Iraq. The 22-year-old specialist was killed by a roadside bomb last week while patrolling on foot north of Baghdad.

His father says Adam was lighthearted with a good sense of humor. He liked karate and video games and could do a great impersonation of his favorite actor, Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Adam was just two weeks away from returning home when he was killed. Adam’s father Jeff Brewer: "When all the calls started coming through, it was hard for me to believe because I'd already quit worrying."

Mr. Brewer says he hasn't gotten any details on where his son's unit was headed, or why they were on patrol when Adam was killed.
