Tulsa Police Want Suspect In Crime Spree To End

Updated:
Police say they're looking for a man who's been on a crime spree in Tulsa for the past week. Officers received a warrant Monday for 20-year-old Dustin Wells. They believe he's responsible for the shooting at a south Tulsa restaurant as well as pointing a gun at some Rogers High School students. "He and his buddies stole a car and have been trying to get in as much trouble as they can," said Officer Andy Phillips, Tulsa police department. Phillips says part of that trouble involved a shooting near the On The Border restaurant Saturday night. "We think Dustin shot a young man and pointed a gun at several other people at that location," Phillips said.

Detectives believe Wells is also the reason Rogers High School beefed up its security. They say Wells sent some Hispanic students running for their lives after he pointed a gun at them. "We know this was not racially motivated," said Phillips. "The kids were just out looking for trouble and these students just happened to be the most available target."

Police worry that Wells's path of destruction is not over and say they hope they find him before anyone else gets hurt. Authorities say Wells is a suspect in a recent armed robbery. The warrant lists charges of shooting with intent to kill, pointing a deadly weapon and other charges. Though Wells claims to be a gang member, the police department said they do not have him listed as being involved with any gang. Officers did recover the stolen car.
