Local Inventor Creates “Color n’ Wash” For Children

Updated:
Children love being creative. As parents know, their artwork can create a large paper trail. A Broken Arrow inventor thinks she has a solution. She has created a product consisting of non-toxic foam pads that can be marked up and then washed off and re-used. "The main reason I invented it is because of the paper shortage across the country,” said Vanessa Faller.

Faller says the idea first came to her as an indoor hopscotch game several years ago. She'd spilled some ink on one of the tiles and noticed that it washed right off. It gave her an idea. Now, she's marketing Color n’ Wash to schools, hospitals, restaurants and other businesses.

Faller says she plans to hire mothers on welfare to help manufacture her products. This is her plan of helping others overcome the discouragement she sometimes felt as a working woman in the business world. "I want to provide a decent job with decent pay with an in-house day care for them,” she said. “We can take them off welfare. We can help them with the assistance."

Faller will feature her invention at a Florida trade show next month. If you'd like more information, go to the Color ‘n Wash web site next Monday. The address is http://www.colornwash.com.
