Kansas City Southern Railway and the city of Sallisaw are fighting over the tracks.

The railroad is asking the Oklahoma Corporation Commission to let its trains block one crossing at a time in Sallisaw for up to an hour.

The city has complained that the railroad already is violating a ten-minute limit. And its opposing a possible compromise to allow a
one-hour variance at one crossing at a time.

An administrative law judge heard arguments today on the issue.

A recommendation is expected to be issued to the commission in about a month.

Kansas City Southern has already paid almost three-thousand dollars to settle commission allegations that it illegally blocked crossings Sallisaw streets 51 times last year.
