Police: Boy killed in zoo shooting

(Washington-AP) -- Police say a 12-year-old boy has died following a mass shooting at Washington's National Zoo.

The boy had suffered a gunshot wound to the head in this evening's shooting, which left five other kids wounded.

Police are investigating whether the shooting was gang-related. They're looking for at least one teenage gunman.

Witnesses say he fired a handgun into groups of youths after a feud escalated to bottle-throwing and then shots.

Some of the other victims are in critical condition -- it's not clear how many. Another girl is in serious condition.

The victims range in age from eleven to 16 and were attending a century-old post-Easter gathering at the zoo celebrating African-American families.
