Coffer continue to grow for 2nd District candidates

(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Money keeps flooding into the campaign to replace U-S Representative Tom Coburn in the Second congressional district.

Longtime Muskogee car dealer Andy Ewing, a Republican, and Democratic state Representative Bill Settle each had more than $200,000 in their campaign accounts at the end of the quarterly reporting period.

Republican Jack Ross and Democrat Brad Carson also boosted their campaign funds and had considerable resources to mount a race for the seat.

Ross boosted his funds with a $125,000 loan.

Settle raised the most of the Second District candidates in the first three months with $138,120, including thousands from several political action committees sponsored by unions.

The state lawmaker ended the first quarter with nearly $232,000.
