(Stroud-AP) -- Stroud is rebounding from the three economic strikes it took from tornadoes that swept across Oklahoma on May 3rd of last year.
Workers scrambled for available jobs after the Tanger Factory Outlet Shopping Center owner decided not to rebuild and the Sygma food processing plant closed its storm-damaged facility and took 150 jobs to Pryor.
The storm also claimed 50 jobs when it tore off most of the hospital roof and a health care management company decided not to reopen it.
But things are turning around.
Superior Bronze Corporation has remodeled the former Sygma plant and moved in and is expanding the facility. The start-up cemetery marker and sign company, Superior Bronze Corporation officials say they plan to hire 300 in a month and up to 800 in a year.
