Nebraska Linebacker Arrested

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Nebraska outside linebacker Mark Vedral has been arrested on suspicion of first-degree sexual assault.

Vedral, a 22-year-old junior, was arrested Saturday for allegedly attacking a 20-year-old woman that morning.

Vedral, of Gregory, S.D., was expected to be arraigned in Lancaster County Court this afternoon.

No further details were being released, Lincoln Police Capt. David Beggs said.

Vedral recently completed spring football with a move from backup to sharing the No. 1 spot at weakside linebacker. He played in all 13 games last season as a reserve linebacker and member of the kickoff team. Vedral is the younger brother of two former Huskers, Jon and Mike.
