Inmate who walked away from jail captured in Tulsa

Updated:
TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- An inmate who walked away from the Oklahoma County Jail in street clothes was captured in a Tulsa apartment complex Tuesday.

Oklahoma County sheriff's Capt. Rickey Barrow said investigators developed leads throughout the night in an effort to locate Michael Jerome Brown.

Investigators were led to a Tulsa apartment complex where they heard Brown was hiding. Upon a sweep of the area, officers saw Brown running away, Barrow said.

After a short struggle, police arrested Brown around 4:15 p.m.

Brown escaped from the Oklahoma County Jail on Monday after a mix-up at the jail.
