Ploessl leaving Drake staff for Oklahoma State

(Des Moines, Iowa-AP) -- Drake University offensive coordinatorDale Ploessl is leaving to become an assistant at Oklahoma State.

Ploessl was a standout defensive lineman at Drake and went on to become the Bulldogs' offensive coordinator. Ploessl will work with the offensive line at O-S-U.

Ploessl had served on the Drake staff the last six years. He was a graduate assistant working with the running backs before his promotion to offensive line coach in 1996. He has coached four players who have earned first-team all-Pioneer Football League honors.

He had 68 tackles, 32 of them solo, as a senior in 1991. Ploessl was a standout at Dubuque Wahlert.
