Oklahoma wins first trip to College World Series

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) -- The Oklahoma Sooners softball team earned a right to play for a national title in the Women's College World Series next week with a 3-2 win over Oregon State in the NCAA Regional.

Oklahoma (62-8) scored all of three runs in the third inning Sunday with second baseman LaKisha Washington hitting the lone homerun. Oregon State's (40-21-1) two runs came in the second inning.

Sooner pitcher Lana Moran (26-2) got the win, pitching a five-hit game in front of 1,236 at the University of Oklahoma Softball Complex.
