Man pleads guilty in mosque threat

(Tulsa-AP) -- A five-year prison sentence was recommended by prosecutors for a man who pleaded guilty to threatening to blow up a Tulsa mosque on New Year's Eve.

Forty-year-old Muhammed "Eddie" Dalati of Tulsa pleaded guilty Monday to threatening to use an explosive or simulated bomb, attempting to induce perjury, and assault and battery on a law enforcement officer. All charges are felonies.

Police say Dalati told the 400-member congregation of Islamic Society of Tulsa's Masjid Al-Salam mosque during a service that he had a bomb in the car. He said he was going to blow it up at any second.

And Dalati was charged October 22nd with trying to get a potential court witness to provide false information regarding a traffic accident he was involved in.
