Oklahoman recognized as oldest man

(Carnegie-AP) -- A 110-year-old Carnegie man has been recognized by the Guinness Book of Records as the oldest living man in the world.

Ben Holcomb was born on July third, 1889 in Brown County, Kansas. Holcomb came to Oklahoma with his family in a land run that opened the Cheyenne and Arapaho lands to settlers.

The recognition was recently confirmed to relatives of Holcomb's.

Holcomb lives in a nursing home in Carnegie.

He has been married three times, had five children, nine grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.

Holcomb farmed most of his life. He gave it up when he was in his 90s.
