(McAlester-AP) -- Inmate Charles Adrian Foster mouthed the words of the 23rd Psalm as a minister read the passage and Foster was put to death for a murder committed 17 years ago.
The 51-year-old inmate died four minutes after receiving a lethal mix of drugs at the Oklahoma State Penitentiary early this morning.
Foster had no final statement.
Relatives of victim Claude Wiley of Muskogee said they had been waiting 17 years, one month and 24 days for the execution.
Donna Loggins said in a statement before the execution that the Wiley-Ware family could now have some closure.
Foster was pronounced dead at 12:16 a-m.
Foster is the sixth inmate to be executed this year. Four more executions are scheduled through July.
