OU player named to Canada's Olympic team

(Norman-AP) -- Oklahoma guard Stacey Dales has been chosen to play on the Canadian Olympic women's basketball team at the Sydney Olympics.

Dales will be the first women's basketball player from O-U to play in an Olympics and the first Oklahoma player since Wayman
Tisdale in 1984 to participate in the games.

At 20, Dales is the youngest member of Canada's team.

Dales is a native of Ontario, Canada.

She averaged 12-point-seven points and five-point-one rebounds per game last season and led the team with 190 assists.

Dales was named to the All-Big 12 second team.
