Touted Razorback recruit could play at Miami junior college

(Fayetteville, Arkansas-AP) -- One of the top Arkansas Razorback recruits may be playing football at Northeastern Oklahoma A-and-M College in Miami instead.

Under a new N-C-A-A rule, Jayson Johnson of Little Rock will have to spend at least three semesters at a junior college before becoming academically eligible to play for the Razorbacks.

Johnson is a six-foot-three, 270-pound defensive lineman who was named to the Super Team selected by The Associated Press after last season.

Johnson fell short of N-C-A-A standards in his core grade-point average and American College Test score.

Razorbacks Coach Houston Nutt says the Razorbacks haven't decided where to send Johnson, but he says Northeastern Oklahoma A-and-M in Miami is a possibility, as well as junior colleges in Kansas and Texas.
