Videos bring trial for former teacher

Updated:
McALESTER, Okla. (AP) -- The case of a former McAlester schoolteacher accused of having explicit videos of minor children has been set for Pittsburg County's August trial docket.

Todd Quinton faces six counts of procuring or possessing an obscene video.

Quinton waived his right to a preliminary hearing last month. On Wednesday, Judge Steven Taylor scheduled the case for August.

The charges stem from videotapes seized at Quinton's home in December. Prosecutors alleged that the tapes showed youth between Jan. 1, 1997 and Dec. 15, 1999.

Quinton, a McAlester High School social studies teacher and a coach, was suspended following the filing of charges in December. He later resigned.
