Calcagni switching allegiances to coach Sooner secondary

(Norman-AP) -- Former Oklahoma State offensive coordinator Ron Calcagni says he's ready to switch to the Sooners.

Calcagni will reportedly be a graduate assistant at Oklahoma this fall, coaching the Sooner secondary.

The former Cowboy coach worked O-U's football camps last week.

Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops says he respects Calcagni's coaching and would love to have him.

Calcagni is a former quarterback who has coached only offense so far. He was fired as Oklahoma State's offensive coordinator last November.

Calcagni says he feels the job could lead to a full-time position at O-U or another school. And he says it will allow him to keep his residence in Stillwater where he has two children in school.
