(Tulsa-AP) -- New Tulsa women's golf coach Melissa McNamara will be playing in the U-S Women's Open.
McNamara qualified for the tourney on Tuesday by shooting 73 at Eagles Landing Country Club in Atlanta and birdying the first playoff hole.
It will be McNamara's fifth trip to the U-S Women's Open. She first played in the Open as an amateur in 1983, playing the event on her home course of Cedar Ridge Country Club in Tulsa.
McNamara is a former All-America golfer at Tulsa and is active on the L-P-G-A tour. She has two career victories on the tour.
She was the N-C-A-A individual medalist when she led Tulsa to the N-C-A-A team title in 1988.
