(Tulsa-AP) -- A Delaware County man has been charged in U-S District Court for allegedly holding a U-S Census worker against her will and threatening to kill her.
Authorities say census worker Margaret Rosenheim ran for her life after Harold Proctor allegedly held her for an hour on May17th. The 35-year-old Proctor reportedly threatened to steal her car and “spill her blood.â€
The confrontation occurred in the Mayes-Delaware County border community of Kenwood, which is southwest of Jay.
The affidavit says that Rosenheim had gone to the house of another man to get his census information, when she encountered Proctor.
The affidavit indicated that Proctor was upset because Rosenheim was part Indian and worked for the federal government. He claims his family and tribe had been taken advantage of by the federal government.
