Burns happy to have week off

(Tulsa-AP) -- Tulsa head coach Keith Burns says the Golden Hurricane's week off couldn't have come at a better time.

Burns says the team is banged up and needs the time off to heal. He says the priority is getting injured defensive linemen Jeff Hewitt and Chris Odom and free safety Harold Burgess healthy for the November Eleventh game against S-M-U.

Both Hewitt and Odom have been out with sore shoulders, while Burgess is recovering from a sprained ankle.
