October 2000 car and light truck sales in the United States by the major automakers. Industry totals include 23 automakers, not just those listed and estimates for Porsche and Suzuki.

The table compares sales in October 2000 with sales in October 1999, and year-to-date totals for the two years. Light trucks include pickups, vans, minivans and sport utility vehicles.

Results for General Motors Corp., Ford Motor Co. and DaimlerChrysler AG do not include U.S. sales of their European brands: Saab, Jaguar, Volvo, Land Rover and Mercedes-Benz.
