(McAlester-AP) -- An Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper has been found guilty of larceny after allegedly walking out of a retail store with items he didn't pay for.
Thirty-seven-year-old David Blake Neighbors of McAlester was found guilty on Thursday. He pleaded not guilty by reason of temporary insanity after he was charged in January.
A security officer at a Wal-Mart SuperCenter says Neighbors tried to leave with two bags of merchandise he didn't pay for.
Two physicians and a psychologist testified Neighbors was suffering from Lupus and depression and had been on prescription medication. Neighbors has apparently been given time off from the Highway Patrol to treat the problems. It was unclear what disciplinary action he would face for the incident.
Sentencing has been scheduled for December Fourth.
