Some Green Country students who helped raise money for the Spirit of Oklahoma fire truck are headed to the Big Apple, to present the truck to New York's finest.

Students from Fort Gibson Intermediate Elementary school left from Tulsa International Airport early Thursday morning. The students get to be part of a special dedication ceremony because they were first in the state to meet the goal to help buy the truck.

Carol Scott, Ft Gibson teacher, "We have very sympathetic students. They were very excited to help somebody else." 5th grader, Melissa Mayo, "Cool that we get to go but it's sad what happened."

The students will be in New York City for four days. They get to see two Broadway plays, go to a Mets baseball game and tour Ground Zero.

The Cherokee National Children's Choir is also headed to the Big Apple. The choir will perform at Ground Zero Friday to help dedicate the Spirit of Oklahoma fire truck.

The Choir will also perform in Washington DC later in the weekend.
