Some local heroes took a walk in the park Saturday, to save the lives of little ones.

Corporate teams and individuals from all over Green Country gathered at LaFortune Park for the March of Dime's annual Walk America. The News on Six's own Terry Hood took part in the annual fundraising event, that helps to prevent birth defects and infant mortality. Darlene Dunn, State Director March of Dimes: "All of the money that we use for research, education, medical service -- all of those grants pretty much depend on how we do in Walk America".

This year's event is expected to raise over $200,000 for the March of Dimes.
