(Austin-AP) -- Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is finished as a prognosticator.

Jones last year predicted the Cowboys would win ten games -- but Dallas finished at 5-and-11.

Jones won't be baited into anything like that again.

Jones today told the Southwest Associated Press Sports Editors regional meeting in Austin that he's getting out of wins and losses prediction business.

But Jones is excited about the Cowboys in an era when also-rans one season can compete for a Super Bowl the next.

He says the team is going to get better.
