A Jenks student has gotten the best graduation gift of all, a new car. And this one didn't come from her parents.

Cerissa Brown was named the Outstanding Senior Student by Ford of Tulsa and drove away with a red Ford Focus. She was selected from 28 local school districts to win the first ever award based on achievement, GPA, character, financial need, community service, and citizenship.

Students applied for the program through their schools, then were interviewed and chosen by Ford of Tulsa executives. "It was insane. I had no idea it would be me. I mean there were eight other finalists, that could have just as easily got it; they were well qualified, so it was really exciting.â€

Ford of Tulsa plans to continue this program next year.
