Broken Arrow Police reviewing last weekend's triple fatality accident

Broken Arrow Police will review the intersection of a fatal accident to determine if improvement is needed.

This comes after an elderly couple driving westbound on the eastbound ramp of 161st East Avenue hit another car head on last weekend. Three people were killed. Motorists say the intersection is confusing with the extra stoplight and not enough visible signs to warn motorists.

The Broken Arrow Police Department says the accident is a tragedy, but determined the collision was not because of a lack of signs. Broken Arrow Police Sergeant Ed Ferguson, "We see this frequently unfortunately with elderly motorists when they are in a congested are like that. You know sometimes they simply make the wrong turn."

A highway worker has changed one of the faded signs. He told us it wasn't a result of Saturday's accident but it needed to be changed.
