In Edmond, officials are investigating the death of a skater at a city skate park.

28-year-old Jameel Alkadhimi was skating with friends over the weekend when he fell and hit his head. Jameel was not wearing a helmet. A friend who doesn't want to be identified says Jameel's skateboard slipped out from under him.

He had dropped in on the eight-foot section of the park and he went over the hump and the board shot up and he just fell, abnormally harder than normal.

Doctors say Jameel hit his head so hard, even if he was wearing a helmet he would have broken his neck.
