Altus woman wins two prelims in Miss Oklahoma pageant


TULSA, Okla. (AP) _ A 19-year-old from Altus won two preliminary events Thursday night at the Miss Oklahoma pageant.

Jennifer Rizzo, 19, of Altus, competing as Miss Altus, won the talent and newcomer talent prelims with her performance of the operatic aria, ``Ch'il bel sogno di Doretta.''

The talent competition brings with it a $1,000 scholarship; the newcomer talent is worth $500.

Miss Tulsa, 18-year-old Tulsa resident Jennifer Berry, received a $500 scholarship for winning the swimsuit preliminary.
