Owasso teen injured in pipe bomb explosion

Updated:
An Owasso teenager is in stable condition after a homemade pipe bomb exploded.

Owasso Police arrived at a home on North 138th East Avenue just after seven Wednesday night. They say a teenager and a friend were experimenting with black powder when a small pipe bomb went off. One teen was taken to Hillcrest Medical Center.

Owasso Police Chief Jim Greene says this serves as a reminder of how dangerous any type of explosives can be. "It's a very dangerous act and a person can be killed very easily making a pipe bomb."

The Owasso Police Department is working with the federal agents on the investigation.
