Saturday marked the beginning of summer holiday fun. Fireworks went on sale statewide and one local man got a head start on the fun.
Every year around this time Steve Sweeden sets up this little fireworks stand in his family's front yard just outside the city.
Its stocked with all the usual favorites, along with plenty of tanks and chickens for the kids. He says running the stand is more about fun and friendship than making a profit.
"We're not in it to make a lot of money, we enjoy seeing everybody come by the stand and visit with us. “ Sweeden says. “We may only get to see them once a year usually."
Sweeden used his profits to put on a fireworks show for friends and neighbors.
Summer fireworks can be sold in Oklahoma through July sixth.
