Truck accident ties up traffic on I-44

Updated:
There was a problem Tuesday morning for Tulsa motorists. Weather apparently caused the driver of a semi-truck to loose control at the I-44 and I-244 split in West Tulsa.

The driver went across the median, hit an overhead sign and the truck came to rest blocking traffic. The sign fell across the service road, the truck blocked eastbound I-44. Shortly after the accident, the driver of a pick-up truck couldn't stop in time, and hit the trailer. He was taken to the hospital complaining of a leg injury. The driver of the semi was not injured.

Officials rerouted traffic, causing backups in both directions on I-44.
