Offers of Hope were handed out to Tulsa residents over the weekend

Americans are uniting all over the nation to help in the relief efforts of New York City and Washington DC. Here in Green Country, dozens of churches came together as well. Their mission? Hope.

About a hundred Tulsa churches and 50 area businesses donated to the "Convoy of Hope." Amid plenty of celebration, volunteers distributed bags and bags of food and school supplies to needy people in Northeastern Oklahoma. More than 1,200 volunteers gave their Saturday for the cause. Convoy of Hope director, Anna Falling says "Convoy of Hope is about bringing hope to people all over the country, the idea of bringing the churches together to make sure they know the churches in Tulsa love them."

Convoy of Hope directors’ say the program is for people who no longer qualify for welfare.
