Tulsa firm celebrates the area's Hispanic heritage

Recent census figures show the Hispanic community is the fastest growing in Oklahoma. That's why Williams is taking a couple weeks to recognizing the contributions of the many diverse cultures within the Hispanic community.

Williams is celebrating the Hispanic heritage with activities and ceremonies through mid-October. Tuesday, dancers performed popular and regional dances custom to the Hispanic culture.

Promoters of the events say it offers a way for people to gain an understanding of America's diverse cultures. Eric Watson with Diversity & Workforce Development for Williams says, “Though we may come from different places, when we call come together in the workplace it's important to understand what we're trying to achieve and diversity brings that together."

Next Tuesday, Williams will host a display of exotic animals and flowers and a Hispanic sports exhibition.
