(Stillwater-AP) -- With a 60-yard touchdown run last season against Oklahoma, Oklahoma State's Tatum Bell gave the promise of big things to come. So far, those things haven't happened.

Nicks and bruises have caused Bell to miss parts of every game this season.

On Saturday, he was unable to play in any of the three overtime periods because of a hip pointer. The Cowboys lost to Missouri 41-to-38.

Bell says talk about his lack of toughness motivates him to prove he can make it through an entire game.

Coach Les Miles says he knows Bell has been hampered by injuries this season. Miles says he still thinks of Bell as a durable back.

Bell has gained 422 yards through five games, an average of 84 per game. OSU is averaging just 105 yards per game rushing, about 100 fewer than Miles has said he wants.
