A 10-year-old Cushing girl continues to recover in a Tulsa hospital after she was hit by a Pawnee County deputy.

The accident happened North of Hallett on Highway 99 Saturday. Authorities say Deidre Willingham got out of her mothers car to retrieve a window flag that had blown off. Troopers say that's when deputy David Stubblefield topped the hill and saw the girl. He tried to steer clear, but, she ran the same direction and he hit her.

Deidre is listed in critical but stable condition.
