Police respond to any number of calls to assist animals in need, but one call early Monday may have been a first for two Tulsa Police officers.
This one wasn't a cat up a tree or a doggie in distress. It was a stunned owl, at the Cedar Glade Apartments on South Mingo. When officers arrived around midnight, they found the owl on the ground and some concerned people in a rental moving truck.
Officer Christy Kellerhalls picks up the story. "They were driving down Mingo. The owl, got caught in the mirror and fell to the ground."
The movers thought the owl had a broken wing, but when animal control officers tried to capture it, the owl apparently decided it had had enough and flew off into the night.
