A Tulsa church that's been praying for city water and sewer lines will soon have their prayers answered, for a price.

The congregation of the Ambassador Christian Center, located at 3421 North Delaware, met with members of the Tulsa City Council Saturday morning. The city says the church must pay the estimated $20,000 it will cost to get water to the church.

The church says water and sewer is not a luxury item, itâ€™s a necessity and believes the cost is ridiculous. A member of the church, Earlene Shue, "I don't understand why the city can not pick up some of this cost, to expose that line so that everyone can have sanitary sewer.â€ The church building has been there for nearly 100 years.

Members of the congregation say the city paid to put water and sewer in to several nearby businesses. They're already spending thousands to remodel the church and say this added expense will make it tough.
