STOCKTON, Calif. (AP) _ Police said a man shot his father on Christmas Day, then went to the home where his infant son lives and shot the boy's mother and grandmother, killing the older woman.

Ramiro Gonzalez Jr., 23, was arrested late Tuesday after a standoff at his former girlfriend's home, according to San Joaquin County Sheriff's Department spokeswoman Nelida Stone.

Stone said police were called about a family dispute and found Ramiro Gonzalez Sr., 51, with several gunshot wounds to the head. He was taken to a hospital and was in critical condition Wednesday morning.

About eight blocks away, the shooter allegedly kicked in the door where Mona Lisa Espinoza, 21, lived with Gonzalez's 7-month-old son, Stone said. Espinoza was shot and her mother, Maria Alicia Espinoza, 42, was killed. The daughter was treated and released, Stone said.

Gonzalez then reportedly barricaded himself inside the residence until a S.W.A.T. team persuaded him to surrender. Gonzalez and his girlfriend, Jeanette Molina, were taken into custody, Stone said.

Gonzalez was booked on suspicion of murder, four attempted murders and child endangerment. Any charges against Molina were not immediately disclosed.
