Tulsa has its first baby of the New Year. Saleena Ashonte was born at St John Medical Center at 48 minutes past midnight on New Years Day.

The 7-pound-11 ounce girl was born to Gabrella and Tracy Denton. Mom says New Year's baby or not, she's just happy Saleena was born healthy. "I was just happy to see her. I almost cried because we've been waiting to see her and I was just glad that she was safe."

Saleena was born early; the family says they weren't expecting her until later this month.
