Contractor denies insurance claims for slippery accidents

A state contractor is denying they're at fault for a slippery situation, and they're refusing to settle claims by some Tulsa drivers.

Several cars crashed last November - just after the contractor sprayed a chemical de-icier on the road. The Department of Transportation blamed the contractor for over spraying the, but this week, the company's insurance provider denied damage claims from several of the victims. Accident victim, Mary Beth Tomco, "We were just really surprised that they didn't pay because we felt they were at fault because the stuff was applied on a dry road and it was very slippery." The material was so slippery, highway crews had to spread sand to restore traction.

Crash victims believe they'll have to go to court to get any satisfaction.
