A suspect is behind bars in connection with the shooting death of an OU student this week.
22-year-old Cassandra Derrick was shot and killed early Wednesday morning. Police have arrested a former boyfriend on a complaint of first-degree murder in the case. Derrick grew up in Muskogee. Her mother says she's in shock with her daughter's death, and wants justice to be served. Victim's mother, Jacqueline Harris, "It makes it a little bit better to know that he's not getting away with it. "I just hope that he gets life with no parole."
Detectives say Paul Bruner initially blamed another man for the murder. But he later admitted to officers he had fired the gun.
