Broken Arrow students got a chance to have a say in what's on the school lunch menu.
About 55 students from 4th through 12th grades sampled nearly 30 food items, all vying for a place on next year's cafeteria menu. The students are members of a group called the Nutrition Advisory Council where they learn about nutrition and healthy eating habits.
The taste testers tried each food and rated them on a ballot. The students say they appreciate the opportunity to provide some input. Sophomore Brian Pfeiffer, "We get our input on what we'd like to eat. We have to eat at school. We don't have a lot of options. If we get to help pick it, we're happy."
Broken Arrow schools have been holding the tasting party for more than 20 years. 16 of the items from last year's taste test made it onto this year's menu.
